175 homes - of which 80% are townhouses, a community centre/clubhouse, a Hindu temple, village green, daycare facilities, and neighbourhood shops.

 

Concept
45 acre sustainable community designed in 1997 for a visionary Indian developer

Environmental Master plan features:-

landscaped court yard organisation for community gathering and micro-climate cooling

roof, storm water and grey water collection

edible, native landscaping

waste recycling, composting  

The aim was to create a green residential neighbourhood endowed with the same benefits and personality as a traditional town centre.To advocate a use of natural and vernacular materials allied with a use of natural, existing energy elements : the sun, wind, light and shadow.To promote an investment in the inhabitants in order to reveal a collective and ecologic conscience.
