The new sports complex is an addition to the existing gymnasium. The upper level houses a gymnasium containing, in part, 4 indoor tennis, volleyball and badminton courts surrounded by a 200m track. The lower level houses a 25m pool as well as squash and raquetball courts, dance and martial arts studios, weight training spaces as well as a multipurpose gym.

The building’s morphology expresses the interior spaces and adapts to its surrounding urban conditions. The exterior is easily recognizable. From inside, large vertical windows bring light in and provide users with the spectacle of the city below. On the park side, the scale of the building is broken down by a series of buttresses and seems to disappear into the landscape.

The new complex is joined to the existing facility by a new skylit concourse, which gives access to the spectator stands of the track and tennis courts, and provides views on the other sides to a championship basketball court with spectator seating.
