| February Point is located in
the heart of the Exumas, Bahamas, on an 80-acre private peninsula. The
site has a unique combination of attributes. It's location on the top of
a hill allows for multi-directional ocean views, as well as gives
the site prominence.
This 3 storey hotel combines the seclusion of a courtyard oasis with the presence and expansive views of a hilltop villa. Minimalist design with natural local materials, maximum natural light, passive cooling, water collection and biological grey water treatment, photovoltaic and solar thermal panels. The suites combine this dual sense of intimacy and openness, calm and exhiliration. The layout is spare but comfortable and sensuous; full of colour and texture, always with an emphasis on the experience of nature and bodily well-being.Water is a recurrent theme, soothing and refreshing with sound and sight and the sensual pleasure of bathing: from the shimmering water of the hotel pool, which cascades over the edge of the hotel terrace to the front lawn below, to the courtyard pool spilling with life and the fragrance of flowers, to the private open-air bath on each terrace. Even the shower has a sliding glass door to the terrace, dissolving the distinction between inside and out in complete privacy.
